Free and Pro tiers are not HIPAA-eligible — they don't include a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Our Enterprise tier offers HIPAA-aligned controls including a BAA, audit logging, and custom data retention. For HIPAA-protected workflows, contact sales for an Enterprise quote.
Are files secure on the free tier?
Yes — encrypted upload (TLS 1.3), processed in isolated workers, auto-deleted within an hour. Suitable for non-PHI documents (administrative paperwork, internal references). For actual patient records under HIPAA, use the Enterprise tier with a signed BAA.
Can I redact patient identifiers permanently?
Yes — use Edit PDF to add filled black rectangles over names, dates, MRNs, and other PHI. Then run Compress PDF to flatten the redactions into the page (so the underlying text isn't recoverable from the file).
