Reorder, delete, and rotate PDF pages

See every page as a thumbnail and reorder, delete, or rotate any of them. Lossless rebuild — original quality preserved.

Loading editor…

Organize PDF gives you a thumbnail grid of every page in your document — drag to reorder, click to delete, rotate any page individually. It's the best way to clean up a scanned PDF where pages came in out of order, drop blank pages a scanner inserted, or restructure a long report after writing. Unlike Merge or Split (which work at the file level), Organize works at the page level inside a single PDF. Lossless: pages are re-linked rather than re-rendered, so text and image quality stay exactly the same.

How to organize pdf step by step

  1. 1

    Upload your PDF

Drop the PDF. We render every page as a thumbnail using pdf.js so you can see the document visually. Up to 100 MB free, 200 MB on Pro.

  2. 2

    Drag thumbnails to reorder

Each page has a drag handle. Drag a thumbnail to a new position — the others shift around it. Browse with the scroll wheel or pinch-zoom on mobile.

  3. 3

Click pages to delete or rotate

Each thumbnail has rotate and delete buttons. Rotate cycles through 90° increments. Delete removes the page; reorder afterward to fill the gap.

  4. 4

    Click Apply changes and download

We rebuild the PDF with your new page order, dropped pages omitted, and rotations baked in. Output is a fresh PDF with all your changes flattened.

Why organize pdf on PDFOnly

Visual thumbnail editor

Most online PDF page managers give you a numbered list. We render real thumbnails so you can see what each page looks like before deciding what to do with it.

Lossless page operations

We re-link pages at the PDF object level — text, fonts, and images are not re-rendered. Your output is bit-for-bit equivalent to opening the original PDF and just keeping the pages you want.

Touch-friendly

Drag-to-reorder works on iPad and Android tablets. Useful for one-pass cleanup of large scanned archives on a tablet.

What people use organize pdf for

A few common scenarios. If your workflow looks like one of these, this tool is a good fit.

Fix a duplex scanner that scanned out of order

Some duplex scanners produce 1, 3, 5, ..., 2, 4, 6, ... orders. Drag pages to interleave them correctly without re-scanning.

Remove blank pages from a scanned document

Scanners often insert blank pages between sheets. Click each one to delete — much faster than re-scanning or splitting/merging.

Restructure a long report

Move the appendix to the end, swap the executive summary forward, drop draft chapters that didn't make the cut. All without re-exporting from Word.

Rotate just the specific pages that scanned sideways

If only a couple of pages scanned in landscape, rotate just those individually — leave the rest alone. Faster than running Rotate PDF with explicit page ranges.

Frequently asked questions

Will the rebuilt PDF lose quality?

No — it's a lossless rebuild. We re-link the page objects from your input PDF; we don't re-encode the content. Text remains selectable, fonts stay embedded, images aren't re-compressed.

How big a PDF can I organize?

Tested on 500-page PDFs. Performance depends on your browser and device — thumbnails render lazily, so even 1000-page PDFs work but require some scrolling. For very large PDFs (5000+ pages), the API gives you programmatic control without rendering thumbnails.

Can I duplicate a page?

Page duplication isn't a single-button action yet. Workaround: split the PDF, then merge with the duplicate page added twice via Merge PDF.

Can I add pages from another PDF?

For combining pages from multiple PDFs, use Merge PDF (which combines whole files in order). For finer control (e.g. inserting page 5 of file B into the middle of file A), split file B first to extract just that page, then merge into your target.

Does Organize PDF work on password-protected PDFs?

Not while encrypted. Use Unlock PDF first with the password, then Organize the unlocked file.

Will my edits be visible in any PDF reader?

Yes. The output is a standard PDF — pages in your new order, deleted pages gone, rotations baked in. Adobe, Preview, Chrome's PDF viewer, mobile readers — all show the same result.

Can I undo if I delete the wrong page?

Within the editor session, no undo button yet — but you can re-upload the original PDF and start over. The deletion only commits when you click Apply changes; until then, you can still re-add by undoing the delete via the per-page menu.
