PDF tools for teachers and educators

Combine worksheets, compress for sharing, OCR scanned readings, watermark draft assessments. Free PDF tools built for educators.

Teachers handle a constant stream of PDFs: worksheets, lesson plans, scanned textbook chapters, parent communications, grading rubrics, IEPs, and accommodations documents. Most schools' systems are slow and the tools provided are often years out of date — which means the practical work happens in browsers and email, where speed and reliability matter.

PDFOnly handles the daily teacher workflow: combining multiple worksheets into a weekly packet, compressing PDFs to email home (parents on phones often can't open large attachments), OCR-ing scanned readings so students can search them, watermarking 'DRAFT' on draft assessments before department review, and converting between PDF and Word for editable lesson plans. Free for the vast majority of needs — no district budget approval required.

Frequently asked questions

Is the free tier enough for daily classroom use?

For most teachers: yes. Files up to 100 MB cover any worksheet packet, lesson plan, or scanned chapter. The unlimited daily processing on free is more than most teachers will use.

Is PDFOnly safe to use with student-related documents?

Files are encrypted, processed in isolated workers, auto-deleted in an hour, and never used to train AI. For documents containing student PII (names with grades, IEPs, etc.), use a school-approved tool with a signed data agreement. For non-PII materials (lesson plans, public worksheets, assignments), the free tier is fine.

Can I batch-grade or annotate student PDFs?

Edit PDF lets you add comments, marks, and stamps to PDFs. For batch operations across many student submissions, the API on Pro plans makes scripting straightforward — but most teachers do this manually one PDF at a time.
